John Sifling, the Principal at Broad Reach Maritime LLC, is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander and former cruise line executive with over 38 years experience in the public and private sectors.  During his 25 year Coast Guard career, he served as Captain of the Port, Federal On Scene Coordinator, Officer in Charge of Marine Inspection, and Federal Maritime Security Coordinator.  John also worked for nearly 8 years as Vice President, Fleet Security and Company Security Officer for Princess Cruises. John has been an incident commander for multi-agency spill response and vessel salvage operations and has public affairs and crisis communications experience.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Master of Science in Oceanography (Physical) from the University of Rhode Island.
